Hannon Hill provides comprehensive training programs for both technical and non-technical users of Cascade CMS. In addition to our dedicated paid training options, we periodically provide free training to Developers and CMS Administrators.

The next available Minicamp is **Monday, July 13, 2026,** from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. ET.

If there is enough room available or you are added from the wait list, you will receive additional information, including a link to the meeting and the URL to your own Minicamp site.

#### When

- For 2026, Minicamps will be held on January 13, April 7, **July 13**, and October 5. (Dates are subject to change.) All sessions run from 1p - 5p ET.

#### Minicamp Agenda

- Build a **Template** from a raw HTML file. Templates are documents that provide the structure of Page assets.
- Create a **Configuration**. Configurations are used to display Page content.
- Select a **Metadata Set**. Metadata represents a collection of fields used to describe content (ex: Description, Keywords). It can also be used as Page content (ex: Title).
- Design a **Data Definition**. Data Definitions are a collection of fields used in the creation and editing of Page and Block content. There are 15 types to choose from (ex: rich-text, drop-down, asset choosers).
- Aggregate the preceding assets into a **Content Type**. Content Types combine the look and feel of a Page with the editable content fields of a Page so that non-technical users can easily create and edit content.
- Setup an **Asset Factory**. Asset Factories allow End Users to quickly create new Pages/assets with certain settings, designs, Templates, and/or Configurations already in place.

#### Who

The Minicamp is oriented toward Developers and CMS Administrators; it is not designed for End Users. While no previous knowledge of Cascade CMS is required, participants should have the following:

- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Access to and basic familiarity with a text editor

#### How

Fifteen participants are allowed, with no more than two people per organization per session. Limiting the number of participants facilitates communication with the trainer (vocally or via chat).

- Minicamp rosters will close roughly two weeks before the scheduled date. However, be aware that the rosters generally fill up well before then.
- We maintain a rotating wait-list and wait-listed individuals have priority for the next Minicamp.
- Sessions will be conducted remotely using video-conferencing software.
- There will be a 15-minute Q&A before training begins to help with login and answer questions.
- All Minicamp sessions will be recorded and a link to the recording will be provided within a few days.
- Participants are asked not to leave and re-join the workshop, if at all possible, as each step builds on the previous one.

### FAQs

**Can we modify the Minicamp for our organization?**

[Custom training can always be arranged, if desired.](/content/services/training.html) The free Minicamp format does not lend itself to customization.

**Can we sign-up more than two people for the Minicamp?**

No. In order to train as many organizations as possible each quarter there is a limit of 2 people per organization. Additional users can sign up for a subsequent Minicamp.

**Can we share computers during a workshop (e.g., in a central room)?**

Hannon Hill does not recommend this as it is our belief that people learn best by doing. Each registered participant gets their own Minicamp site to work in; additional observers will not.
